چکیده
This paper presents an experimental investigation into the mechanisms altering pull-out behaviour of partially pulled hooked-end steel fibres inside artificial crack exposed to wet–dry cycles chlorides and carbon dioxide for 6 months. Mechanical corrosion damage at surface fibre was investigated using three-dimensional optical interferometric profiling, petrographic analyses were used describe healing processes matrix surrounding fibre. observed in cementitious fibre's confirmed that process governed by yielding fibre, fracture adjacent matrix, friction between hook matrix. Increases force pulled-out after exposure connected accumulation products from alteration cement study concluded autogenous carbonation damaged around are main responsible increase fibre–matrix bond strength bridging cracks concrete cycles.

متن کاملStructural Behaviour of Fibrous Concrete Using Polypropylene Fibres
The aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of variation of polypropylene fibres ranging from 0.1% to 0.4% along with 0.8% steel fibres on the behaviour of fibrous concrete. The mechanical properties of the concrete such as compressive and tensile strength have been investigated. The result shows that addition of polypropylene fibre has a little effect on the compressive strength,...
متن کاملPermeability Study of Cracked Concrete
Cracks in concrete generally interconnect flow paths and increase concrete permeability. The increase in concrete permeability due to the progression of cracks allows more water or aggressive chemical ions to penetrate into the concrete, facilitating deterioration. The present work studies the relationship between crack characteristics and concrete permeability. In this study, feedback controll...
متن کاملEffect of the Concrete Strength on the Concrete-Steel Bond in Concrete Filled Steel Tubes
In this study, the concrete-steel bond strength of concrete filled cylindrical steel tubes has been experimentally investigated. 22 short, high strength and normal concrete filled circular steel tubes were tested. Push-out test was carried out as the common method to evaluate the bond carrying capacity. Four different concrete mixes were used in preparing the specimens. The steel tubes were w...
متن کاملJoint Deterioration in Concrete Pavements
Concrete pavements located in cold climates have been experiencing premature joint deterioration. Entrapment of moisture in the joints saturates the surrounding concrete, rendering it susceptible to freeze–thaw damage. To identify and to isolate the variables that might be causing this localized deterioration, concrete cores were obtained from deteriorated and non-deteriorated sections of US 35...
